"Small changes of today can create big results tomorrow"
Handwriting is a compounded technique made up of many small but important factors. In today's hi-tech world, children are Texting, Tapping and Typing (3Ts) on keyboards/mobile gadgets more than ever, leaving less time to master that old-fashioned skill known as handwriting. So will the three "T's" replace a building block of education? It's not likely. The benefits of gripping and moving a pen or pencil reach beyond communication. Emerging research shows that handwriting increases brain activity, hones fine motor skills, improves writer's memory, retention power, improves their concentration and confidence and it also boosts their vocabulary and they tend to make less spelling mistakes. Thus it becomes essential to focus on kids writing at an early age because writing is not an extracurricular activity, it's a skill used by them all the time, if they master, it would be a great support in their academics. It needs lots of encouragement to build their confidence as writers.
During week 2 & 3, the program continues with the repetitive movements to write all the capitals and small cases letters. Children would begin appropriate words with capital letters as there is a reduced variety of starting points. This will enhance their knowledge of correct formation and by repetitive movement, the new pathways towards brain start to form.
In week 4 & 5, after learning and practicing the right formation of the alphabets, the kids will write full words/sentences. By practicing daily in a normal school notebook they gradually start writing faster and with accuracy.
This programme also helps in handling various behavioral issues by changing some specific strokes using Grapho-therapy and counseling with Child and Parents. Regular and continuous practice is required after completion of the course. Thus this course lays the foundation for beautiful and nice writing for the child.
Every child is unique and has his/her own strengths and weaknesses. By undergoing this program, each kid will see different levels of improvements depending on their learning abilities and how much the kid can apply the newly learned skill. Kids are like clay, we can mold them and shape them the way we want. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses at an early age will help their parent and teacher to take corrective action. As kids are in a formation stage, they learn things very fast and these learning are long lasting as it sinks in their subconscious mind."Children are great imitators, give them something great to imitate."
